It cannot be denied that there are many English people, and indeed Brits in general, that relish taking any opportunity to jet away to sunnier climes at some point each year. The weather is of course the biggest driver behind the decision to leave for overseas destinations but there are some points during the year when the UK itself can offer temperatures to enjoy. Whether the sun happens to be beating down or not at the time you take your break there are numerous advantages to staying domestic and choosing a holiday in England.
Less chance of disruption
Although you can never place an absolute guarantee on a holiday going smoothly, with a break taken to a place in England you tend to take away much of the risk of disruption. This can relate to flight delays, as well as cancellations and the travel itself. In the case of the latter, because you are able to reach the place you are staying at by car you can easily turn around and go home if you are unhappy with it.
No cultural differences
In different parts of England there are of course slightly different approaches to some things but generally the culture does not vary too hugely around the country. If you are looking for the holiday to simply provide you with somewhere to go on a vacation without losing anything of the English way of life that you feel is a necessity then there are many possible destinations. Some of the most popular places to holiday in include Cornwall, Brighton, Devon and the Lake District. Although the majority of foreign holiday destinations have English speakers it is a benefit for some to be able to communicate freely by holidaying in England.
Going somewhere in England when on holiday also represents a more cost-effective trip as opposed to going abroad. It can depend on how far you have to travel in the car for example but generally the difference in price between this and taking a flight will be fairly clear to see. There are also factors to bring in such as travel insurance that will not be needed.
Besides all the factors related to convenience and sticking with the things you are comfortable with it should also be noted that English holidays have a lot to offer in their own right. There are many facilities and activities to be found that suit all types of needs, from exercise to relaxation.
