Vermont is the fifth smallest state in the U.S., and it’s a destination that doesn’t pop into many people’s heads when they think “vacation.” If you want to take a trip, Vermont is actually an awesome place to visit. You don’t need to leave the U.S. to have an amazing vacation, and you there are lots of great options besides states like Florida and California. If you love outdoor activities, Vermont is a great place for you. It’s gaining momentum as one of the most popular states for mountain biking. There are hundreds of miles of foot trails and opportunities for hiking, kayaking, and more. But if you love snow activities, Vermont really is the best place to visit. There are dozens of great ski resorts that offer thousands of acres of terrain for skiing, and they accommodate everyone from the most beginner to the most advanced skier. Also check out snowmobiling, ice fishing, ice skating, sledding, sleigh rides, and more.
Vermont is home to many, many farms and fields, big and small. You can always find delicious, locally-grown produce, and much of it is organic. You can also get farm-fresh eggs, milk, and meat. In addition, Vermont offers a plethora of complementary food items like homemade jams, pies, cider, bread, artisan cheese, coffee, and more. Don’t forget the famous Vermont maple syrup; you can also find maple butter, sugar, cream, and candy. There are many great Farmers’ Markets throughout the state, so be sure to check at least one out on your trip.
If you want to see some magnificent castles, you don’t have to travel to Europe. Vermont has some of the most incredible sprawling mansions in the country. There’s the Hildene in Manchester, the Wilson Castle in Rutland, Shelburne Farms in Shelburne, and the Park McCullough House in North Bennington. These castles are a great part of Vermont’s history.
Vermont is home to people who are generally incredibly friendly. You’ll be impressed with how warm and inviting the people of Vermont are, and you’re sure to make a few friends while you’re there. Always willing to give advice or strike up a conversation, people in Vermont are also quite sophisticated. They enjoy culture, the arts, plays, and other things you’ll love, too.
Vermont is one of the most beautiful states in the country, and there are plenty of breathtaking landscapes and natural wonders for you to enjoy on your vacation. There’s Lake Champlain, the sixth-largest lake in the country, as well as hundreds of lakes and thousands of miles of streams. “The Green Mountain State” has magnificent hills, snow-covered mountains, and gigantic forests, as well as lots of awesome wild animals.
